Level 2: Intermediate Arabic Grammar

Completion of Level 1 or equivalent course material
  • Deepening understanding of the three parts of Arabic speech: Ism, F'il, and Harf
  • Mastery of the ten forms table for strong root-letters
  • Identifying the 7 categories of nouns and their signs
  • Understanding the states and signs of verbs
  • Ability to use Arabic terminology for grammar concepts
  • Word-for-word analysis of the last ten Surahs of the Qur'an
  • Each class will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. They will be held on Zoom, and students will be required to keep cameras on during the class.
  • Homework will be assigned on a weekly basis.
  • The total time required for assignments will be a maximum of two hours for the entire week to accommodate busy schedules.
  • Canvas will be used for submissions and grades.
A maximum of three absences are allowed during this course.

Instructors

ARHUM ALI

Founder & CEO
Arhum Ali grew up in Chino Hills, California. He completed the memorization of the Quran at the Institute of Knowledge and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. During his university years, he became deeply interested in the Islamic sciences. This passion led him to Amman, Jordan where he studied Classical Arabic at the Qasid Institute. During this period, Arhum also delved into key texts across Islamic sciences, earning multiple Ijazaat in Arabic grammar, notably from Sheikh Ali Hani. Additionally, he attained one of the world's shortest Ijazaat in Quran recitation from Sheikh Muhammad Noor. Upon return, he transitioned into a role as a Product Manager at Zelle. Currently he serves as the CEO and Founder of Kitaab Academy.

Muhammad Faheem

Arabic Student Instructor
Muhammad Faheem is from Atlanta, Georgia. He completed the memorization of the Qur’an at the age of 14 from Georgia Islamic Institute. A few years later, he completed a bachelors of science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech and currently works as a technology consultant. He has studied Arabic at Kitaab Academy and now teaches introductory Arabic grammar classes part-time. He is also the former sub-regional coordinator of YM Atlanta and plans to pursue Islamic studies full time at Darul Qasim college.
